Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how POD Network (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the Scopetpt Chrome extension, the POD Network website, and the membership-verification service at podnetwork.store.
1. What Scopetpt does
Scopetpt is a Teachers Pay Teachers product-research assistant for eligible POD Network members. It reads publicly visible TPT search and product information in the browser and adds research metrics, filters, comparison tools, inline insights, and multi-page search features.
2. Information we handle
Account and authentication data: When you sign in, the extension sends your POD Network email address or username and WordPress password to podnetwork.store over HTTPS solely to authenticate your account. The extension does not store your password. The server may return your display name, WordPress user ID, eligible role, and a temporary session token.
Session and security data: To protect access, the server stores a hashed session token, a device label, a salted hash of the connection IP address, the browser user agent, and session creation, validation, expiry, and revocation timestamps.
TPT website content: The extension reads publicly visible product titles, links, prices, ratings, reviews, page counts, subjects, dates, and related listing information to calculate research insights. This TPT content and the resulting research data are processed locally in the browser and are not sent to POD Network.
Local preferences: Interface settings, filters, and temporary research state may be saved in Chrome storage on your device. The membership token is kept in Chrome session storage and is cleared when you sign out or the browser session ends.
3. How we use information
- Authenticate your POD Network account and verify membership eligibility.
- Enable and secure Scopetpt features.
- Detect expired, revoked, or no-longer-eligible sessions.
- Prevent abuse, apply rate limits, and troubleshoot service reliability.
- Save the local settings needed to provide the extension’s research experience.
4. Sharing and sale of data
We do not sell user data. We do not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, creditworthiness, lending, or purposes unrelated to Scopetpt’s single purpose. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers that host and secure podnetwork.store, only as needed to operate the service or comply with law.
5. Retention
Extension access sessions expire automatically according to the membership-service configuration. Expired or revoked session records are removed by scheduled cleanup after 30 days. Local extension data remains on your device until you sign out, clear extension data, remove the extension, or the relevant Chrome session ends. WordPress account information is retained while your POD Network account remains active or as required for legitimate administrative and legal purposes.
6. Security
Authentication and session requests use HTTPS. Passwords are not stored by the extension. Server-side access tokens are stored as one-way hashes, IP addresses are stored as salted hashes for security, and membership is revalidated periodically and before protected actions.
7. Your choices and rights
You may sign out, remove the extension, clear its local data, or request access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with your POD Network account. Use our contact page to submit a privacy request.
8. Children
Scopetpt is a business research tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Scopetpt or our legal obligations change. The revised date at the top of this page indicates the latest version.
10. Contact
Questions or privacy requests can be submitted through podnetwork.store/contact.
Scopetpt is an independent research tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Teachers Pay Teachers.
